JUNKBy LeeGulf From Garland, TX - Tue Aug 29 2017
I bought this to replace an older unit I have had since 2008. Well guess what, the old model still going strong. The new one does not run after 5 hours of use, it is a POS. The Briggs & Stratton people really stepped in it with their "new" design complete with plastic carburetors, which are not serviceable. The wheels are smaller than the ones on the older models, therefore harder to push especially on rough ground. It is definitely a dead dog product, I would not recommend any equipment with that Briggs plastic carburetor engine on it. It is TROUBLE. It looks like Kohler or Honda will be getting my business until Briggs changes their ways. Count me as a extremely dis-satisfied customer.
Broke after two monthsBy tpup23 From Salem, OR - Sat Aug 26 2017
This worked well for the first two months but the clutch went out after just two months. Getting a warranty replacement has been practically impossible.
Craftsmen high wheel trimmerBy Lmmanginell From Bellefonte, PA - Sat Aug 19 2017
Cheaply made, engine overheated and 90 day warranty didn't cover the repairs- over $100 to get fixed, Don't buy Craftsmen model, get a high wheel trimmer from a different manufacturer!
Craftsman 776740 Wheeled Weed TrimmerBy Twisp From Twisp, WA - Fri Aug 04 2017
This might be a good choice for flat terrain with no big challenges. Over two seasons it has always started easily and runs pretty good. However, I live in a forested area with lots of uneven terrain and it's a bit too much for this machine. The plastic debris shield broke within the first few weeks of operation. This season, the mow ball broke as soon as we started clearing brush. The 2 year warranty only covers defects and will not cover these parts. I will now spend about $50 to replace those parts and will try to be more careful. So - I can recommend this trimmer to someone who has a light duty need on even ground. In my circumstance, with forest and uneven ground, if I was buying again, I would look for something beefier. And I would purchase the extra insurance.
Older model much betterBy Lmmanginell From Bellefonte, PA - Tue Aug 01 2017
I have an older model high wheel trimmer from Sears that's about 20 years old. The motor would quit running after a few minutes so I decided to get a new model- bad move- new model fell apart after 3 months(light use)! The wheels are smaller, it doesn't roll as easy, the head piece is cheap and fell apart while using. Very disappointed!
Sturdy, reliable, I am quite pleased.By RJMouse From Alamogordo, NM - Thu Jul 06 2017
I ordered the trimmer and it showed up, on my door step, three working days later. Now THAT is service, especially when the site said 7 to 10 days delivery. The box looked a little rough for wear and the starter holder eyelet was missing, these are courier issues. However, Sears sent a replacement eyelet immediately, not an issue. This trimmer works as hard as a clydesdale, a true work horse. Easy to start, simple to maintain, and it wants to keep going. Without question, a worthwhile investment.

This is awesome!By Shannybug From Fredericksburg, VA - Sat Jun 24 2017
Put in the fuel and oil and it started right up. I have a ditch bank that was overgrown with saplings, weeds, grass and thorny growth. There are rocks and some small stumps in there as well making a lawnmower useless. I was able to clear this out in a short period of time! I have worked several times trying to clean up this ditch, but the rocks are hard on a mower blade. I did break a string or two on the larger growth, but that is an easy fix! Easy to use! This is the best purchase!
